OMG. Lipstick BOREDOM

The Makeup Majesty is in DIRE NEED of a new lipstick. Don't get me wrong, I have enough lipsticks to fill an entire file cabinet with. But one is too pinky, one is too coral, one is too sparkly (you get the idea). So, I need suggestions on a new lipstick to try!

I've been toying with the idea of trying Chanel's Coco Rouge, but i'm not sure what shade yet. In Allure, it seems like the color of the season is PLUM, which ..uhhh would look miserable on me HA!

For those of you who read my blog regularly, you know what I like =) I love bubblegum pinks, dark pinks, certain nudes, etc. I'm not huge on red lips - I love it on other people, just not so much on myself. If I found a red that I LOVED, of course i'd give it a try.

What do you guys think? Any suggestions on fall shades? xoxo

Beauty Seasonality

Hope all my beauty lovers are doing well! Question - what do you dolls do differently with your makeup when the seasons change? For example, going into fall from summer. Do you switch foundations? Do you start or stop using certain eye shadows or lipsticks? Do you switch from waterproof to regular mascara?

I was thinking about this when I looked in my makeup drawers. After summer, a lot of my products seemed to be packed away - illuminators, bronzers, bright colored eye liners and lipsticks, etc. Do you feel your makeup is very seasonal, or do you seem to stick to a similar look throughout the whole year? Just curious!

Burberry Beauty is BELLA

Makeup snobs rejoice!

Burberry's beauty line has finally hit counters, and it looks just as beautiful as the clothing! The beauty line, which is sold currently at Nordstrom, includes lipsticks, lip liners, glosses, eye pencils, shadows, mascara, foundation, blush, powder and bronzer.

The beautiful pieces are inspired by, what else, Burberry's trademark trench coat. As reported by WWD online, the Burberry beauty line generated about $10,000 in only 5 hours in San Francisco! Crazy, huh? Currently, the makeup is sold only at 5 Nordstrom locations. The company plans to roll out the line to 30 stores within the next year.

But don't expect the Burberry line to give into fads or trends. They want their products to be classic, and plan to expand the line each season. The laser engraved makeup and luxurious packaging comes with a hefty price tag (it is Burberry, afterall). Lipsticks are $30, Bronzer is $48, etc. Being the makeup addict I am, it will be hard for me not to at least try ONE thing. I mean, it's research...right? If i'm spending $30 on a lipstick, it better make me look like Marilyn Monroe..

What do you guys think?

MAC Cosmetics - Pret A Papier

Large Visual - Bloomingdale's 59th Street NY

MAC describes their new collection as "Craft Paper Couture." The MAC makeup artists really love this color collection, and think there is something for everyone. The visual is interesting, right? Maybe a bit of Lady Gaga hair bow inspiration?

As usual, I went on a swatching rampage and started trying everything! Below are some of the colors:

Lipsticks From Left: Archetype, Kraft, Dressmaker Dressmaker, and Made To Order

Paint Pots: Coral Crepe and Groundwork

My friend Flower found this photo on Twitter! Cool, right?

The full collection includes Paint Pots, Eye Shadows, Eye Pencils, Lipsticks, Lipglass, Blush and Nail Lacquers. I think the colors are so pretty and fresh - just in time for Spring!

I didn't purchase anything (YET) but I really want the Dressmaker Dressmaker lipstick, and one of the new Chromagraphic Pencils. What do you guys think, has anyone tried any Pret A Papier shades?

Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss – Head-Turning, Electrifying Color

I’ll be honest, I was skeptical at first. Who are they trying to be, MAC Cosmetics? I walked into Sephora in Soho NY, and saw the display for Illamasqua. “What is THIS I see?” I thought to myself interested. Being an obsessive cosmetics junkie, I was excited to see something new and fresh. The high drama, sexy colors caught my eye immediately, and pretty soon I had color swatches of eye shadow, lipgloss & lipstick all up my arm.

OK, so I promised myself I wouldn’t buy ANY more makeup…but does that ever really work? I needed to try something from Illamasqua…a lipgloss? I purchased the Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss in Bright Hot Pink ($12.50). I am IN LOVE with it! The super skinny tube fits nicely in your hand, and allows for fairly easy application. I did use a thin lip brush to smooth it out, and finished off with a firm blot. OMG. The results were amazing…electrifying even. The color pops and screams LOOK AT ME! I AM YOUR LIPS AND WANT TO BE NOTICED!

I am always looking for the next best thing, the next innovation or creation in the cosmetics world. I love trying new cosmetics, comparing and contrasting brands and products. This one was worth it in my eyes! And, it was calling my name…how could you resist? www.illamasqua.com
