Daisy & Lola

Marc Jacobs Daisy & Marc Jacobs Lola - solid perfume rings!

The inside!

I'm in love with solid perfume rings! Marc Jacobs made both of these so beautiful - more like art pieces. I get so many compliments on them and they are so fun to wear. I have to confess though - I don't want to use the actual perfume because I don't want to mess them up! But I do smell them often.

Cute right? =) Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas & holidays! xoxo

Rihanna's Fragrance

Just like seemingly EVERY celebrity out there, Rihanna is coming out with her own fragrance "Reb'l Fleur." Loving the bottle, very unique, just like the singer!

I came across the image while I was on Cocoperez (such a guilty pleasure) and thought it was interesting. What do you guys think of the bottle & name? Are you getting sick of celebrity fragrances?

Worst Makeup Blunder?

We've all seen it. Raccoon eye liner, overdone lip liner, bronzer overload, false lashes peeling off, and the list goes on.

So the question is - what is the worst makeup mistake that someone could make?

Lady Gaga to Have a Fragrance?

Hey guys. Saw this article and thought it was interesting! The source is Ranked.com:

Let the licensing games begin. Word on the webs this morning has it that the ubiquitous Lady Gaga will embark on olfactory domination by inking a deal to produce an eponymous fragrance with cosmetics company Coty. Rumor has it that the fragrance will be "unusual" (uh, no way, quelle surprise) and is scheduled to hit stores this holiday season, bolstered by a heavy dose of ads, marketing, and television commercials.

What do you guys think, do you know anyone that would be interested in a Gaga fragrance? I know some of you aren't big on celebrity scents, but who knows, this one might be cool! Let us know what you think =)

Hola! Perfumes from Overseas

I love perfumes. I have more bottles than I can count! Whenever one of my friends or family members goes overseas (I live in the US), I always ask them to pick me up a local perfume or makeup item. I love experiencing things from other countries, and comparing them to what I have. My father went on a business trip, and brought me back these treasures from Mexico - two womens and one mens. Enjoy!

Natura - Humor!

I think this bottle is so beautiful! It's so dainty and elegant, it has earned one of the coveted "front" spots in my perfume "display." The scent is fruity and juicy - very sweet and light for daytime in my opinion. It's youthful and pretty, just like the bottle! =)

Natura - Amor America

I think the bottle is different - a cute little teardrop shape. This scent is definitely more...mature. I don't think it was meant for my age, but hey, my dad picked me up a few gifts so i'm not complaining! =) It's very spicey and musky - a nighttime fragrance for sure.

Zermat - Player

My first mens fragrance! I've bought a few mens fragrances for my boyfriend, but this is MY first mens fragrance. OK, so it's STRONG. Like...STRONGGGG. But it smells amazing! I can't explain it very well. It's one of those scents that you have to spray in the air and walk through - quickly! It's very alluring and sexy - sure to make a lasting impression!

What about you? Do you have any treasures from different countries?

Bruce Willis Fragrance Ad - Sexy or Creepy?

For those of you who haven't heard, Bruce Willis will join the ranks of many celebrities and create his own fragrance. Random, right? I'm all for Bruce Willis, and think he's an attractive guy, but why NOW come out with a fragrance?

Anyway, I just found this advertisement that Bruce did to promote his new juice. It looks like it's a preliminary advertisement, but just thought I would post it for you guys. Let the video load all the way before watching. Thoughts?

All the pretty ladies that read my blog - I need your help! With all of these FAB Friends and Family discounts going on the next couple of days, it would almost be a sin not to make use of the coupons, right?

WELL, I need makeup and fragrance suggestions! If you were to make a "Beauty Hit List" of 5 things you either LOVE and couldn't live without, OR 5 things that you currently want, what would they be?

Over the last couple of months, you dolls have given me amazing feedback and love - I trust your opinions! I have a few things that I might get, but I would love some fresh suggestions.

Comment me some ideas! xoxo

Kenzo Summer Perfume - A Tasty Summer Treat

I think the title says it all! My boyfriend's mother was sweet enough to bring me back this very special treat when she returned home from South America. I've never purchased any of the Kenzo perfumes, so I wasn't sure what to expect.

This scent is TASTY. It is a woody and floral scent, with hints of amber and musk. It is a daytime fragrance, but could definitely be worn at night as well - it does have a musky/sexy dry down. The bottle is a bit awkward though, and won't stand up on its own =) It just lays down next to the sea of other fragrances, perfumes and body sprays I proudly display on one of my dressers.

What are you ladies wearing in terms of perfumes? I will always have my favorites - Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue, Chanel No.5, etc, but love changing it up and trying something new and fresh. Do you go through phases with perfumes, or are you pretty consistent and wear the same ones? Talk to us about it!!!

Celebrity Scents - Sexy or Stinky?

It seems like everyone and their mother has their own fragrance these days. It's tough to turn the page to a magazine, or walk through the cosmetics floor of any department store and not be bombarded by a barrage of celebrity-created fragrances.

Most fragrance enthusiasts are skeptical of these scents. You start to wonder...How much involvement did this celebrity actually have in the creation of their "juice?" Did they hire a company to take over the creative process, and slap their name on the label? Or were they in the fragrance lab a few times a week taking whiffs of fragrance oil blends and giving their feedback?

No one will know for sure, and of course it depends on which celebrity we are talking about. The only fragrances I can speak to, are the ones I have personally tried. Regardless of the feelings one may have toward these certain celebrities (translation: don't hate me!) these are my personal picks:

Clockwise from left:

Paris Hilton - Just Me: Vanilla and White Rose scent. Very girly, sweet and pretty. I like this for spring and daytime...with peep-toe pumps, a sun-dress, and pair of big sunglasses. Guess Paris hit the nail on the head huh?

Ed Hardy - Love & Luck: Certainly the King of Merchandising just about anything, this Ed Hardy fragrance is just fabulous. With orange, sandelwood and bergamot notes, it is one fragrance that I will usually grab to freshen up.

Paris Hilton: The original Paris fragrance, the zebra-stripped bottle is a lot of fun. Apple, peach-nectar and freesia notes, it is an upbeat and youthful blend.

Ed Hardy for Women: The original Ed Hardy fragrance for women by Christian Audigier. To be honest, I've actually got a lot of use out of this scent. I did buy it at the peak of the Ed Hardy craze (now the T-shirts can Rest in Peace, thank God!), but the juice itself is actually really great. A very fruity blend of apple, mango, strawberry and grapefruit make this scent super sweet and playful.

Britney Spears - Midnight Fantasy: Way before her head-shaving days (KIDDING!) came Britney Spears's Fantasy fragrance. It's actually unlike any fragrance I own - extremely unique. And I always end up getting compliments when I wear it! A blend of framboise, black cherry, and musk, this scent is very mystic and ethereal.

Anyone try any of these? Or try any celeb fragrances they really liked?

Luxury Fragrances For Luxury Snobs

It's tough for me not to be a label snob, especially when it comes to fragrance. Over the years, I've bought and collected tons of fragrances and perfumes, all having varying notes and scents. I do switch up which one I use each day, just to keep things fresh.

There are many categories in which a fragrance can be classified. There are also many "notes" within one fragrance. Floral, Oriental, Woody and Fresh are the four main categories - other sub categories combine one or more of the above.

Now, what does that mean? Well, when selecting a new fragrance, a lot of times someone will ask you what type of scent attracts you. Below are a few of my favorite fragrances, accompanied by what category and/or notes it contains.

Chanel No. 5
Category/Notes: Abstract

It is tough to put your finger on what notes Chanel No.5 is composed of, especially because it is considered an "abstract" fragrance. This fragrance wonder has withstood the test of perfume time and continues to be wildly popular - Chanel No.5 was introduced in 1921! A very distinct and full scent, it is best to wear it in the evening, AND in moderation. Coco Chanel's goal when creating this perfume many years ago was to "Make a woman's fragrance that smells like a Woman" We think she nailed it.

Dolce and Gabbana - Light Blue
Category/Notes: Floral, Citrus, hint of Musk

Light Blue has been a favorite of mine for a few years now. The feminine, sweet smell always reminds me of a tropical vacation - the Light Blue ad with the model on a boat in the middle of the ocean sums it up perfectly! It's light and pretty enough to wear during the day, and sexy and musky enough to wear during the evening. I seem to get a lot of "Wow, you smell great!" compliments when I wear Light Blue (always appreciated)!

Bond No. 9 - Fashion Avenue
Category/Notes: Fresh, Floral, Green, Sexy/Sultry

Bond No. 9 New York has many fascinating fragrances - they are all named after places, streets or parks within New York. Fashion Avenue, Little Italy, Bryant Park and Chinatown are just to name a few. The Bond No. 9 name comes from the address of their headquarters - 9 Bond St, Noho NY. The company's goal is to create a scent for every part of New York in an artistic way. My favorite is Fashion Avenue - it smells sexy and sophisticated, and I attended college at Fashion Institute of Technology - right on Fashion Avenue!

True Religion Jeans - True Religion for Women
Category/Notes: Fruits, Florals, Warm and Sensual

True Religion for Women gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. It perfectly captures True Religion's boho-chic, laid-back style of clothing. This is the type of fragrance the jeans and t-shirt type chick would wear to the beach. Plus, I love the bottle!

Fendi - Palazzo
Category/Notes: Rose, Orange Blossom, Bergamot

In the passed, many people have said Rose-scented perfumes were for old ladies. Not the case here! It is a little more sophisticated than the rest of my favorites, but I wouldn't say you should get out your cane and reading glasses just yet. The orange blossom and bergamot notes freshen it up, and it becomes an attention-grabbing scent. Almost piercing. Ladies who wear this fragrance need to WORK IT!
