Best of Beauty

Hi loves! Happy Friday! So I've been devouring my October issue of Allure magazine, because it has all of the editors "Best of Beauty" picks! For those who don't know, the editors and their staff tests hundreds and hundreds of beauty products in every category (makeup, skincare, fragrance) from all different brands and come up with the Best of Beauty SUPER list! It's interesting to see what they've chosen and WHY they like it so much.

There are so many things I want to try, but have been trying not to spend tons of money on makeup (too bad it's not working...)

So I have to ask my makeup addicts - what are you loving for Fall? Share your favorite new products with us!

OR, is there a new beauty trend that you've wanted to try?

Beauty Books

It's not news that Allure is the Beauty Bible. I have been a faithful follower of Allure ever since I was 13 and wore awful raccoon eye liner and brown lipstick (NOT a good look for me). I forgave myself years later, dubbing it my "awkward stage"...everyone has one, right?

ANYWAY, this book is a great read. I'm super busy with work, life, etc that I sometimes have trouble finishing a book, even if I find it interesting. The reason I like Allure - Confessions of a Beauty Editor, is because each page is composed of mini blurb-type paragraphs. Therefore, you can read a few, skip over some that you don't care about, or just get to the good stuff - tips and tricks!

Written by Linda Wells - Editor of Allure Magazine, the book gives advice from world-renowned makeup artists, gurus, and creative people alike. Each chapter is dedicated to a specific area of beauty - foundation, eyes, lips, etc and is tough to put down. It also recounts Linda's journey of how she got to be THE Beauty Editor with funny anecdotes and (sometimes) embarrassing stories.

What beauty books do you ladies like? Suggestions??

White Eye Liner - Wearable or Just For Runway?

I was reading The Bible, aka Allure Magazine, and I came across the Beauty Reporter section. The magazine states, "By replacing traditional black liner with a streak of white, makeup artists create a look that's cool and striking"

Not sure if i'm sold on this ladies! I'm all for switching up your makeup for different seasons and occasions, but i'm just not sure if this look is wearable off the runway. I'm sure it could look interesting and polished on some people, but on me it would look strange and futuristic! What do you guys think?

And if you haven't already, pick up the May 2010 issue of Allure - it's a really great read this month!
